Dr. Mitch Handelsman shared his acculturation model applied to being an ethical psychologist. Mitch explained that both our personal and professional selves contribute to choice and action. He emphasized the need to frame ethical behavior in the context of the integration of personal and professional standards. In addition, Dr. Handelsman reminded us of our own biases, rationalizations, and potential “pitfalls.” He provided participants with examples, and opportunities for group discussion and application of this model.
