Forget What You Thought You Knew About Weight Loss By Dr. Sherri Ruggiero

Dr. Ruggiero graduated with her BA in psychology from University of Colorado-Boulder in 1996, her MA in mental health counseling from Northern Arizona University in 2012, and PhD in psychology from NAU in 2015.

In her early career she worked as a researcher for the Institute for Behavioral Genetics at the University of Colorado on learning disabilities and ADHD for six years. She also worked in community mental health, and currently works for Northern Arizona Healthcare in integrated primary care. She teaches and NAU and Yavapai College, and provides legal competency to stand trial evaluations for the Yavapai Superior Court.


OBJECTIVES OF THIS TRAINING:

Have awareness of some of the lesser-known causes of obesity and barriers to weight loss

Be able to gather and utilize baseline information to influence weight loss and maintenance

Promote incremental change

Understand and promote predictors of weight loss
