Mindfulness Based Substance Abuse Treatment for Teens

What: MBSAT is an evidence based curriculum

for working with teens and substance use

utilizing the principles of mindfulness to

promote awareness, choice and autonomy.

Goals of the Group:

• Increased ability to deal with strong emotions

• Reduced impulsiveness

• Reduced stress

• Increase in overall well being

• Decreased craving to use

• Decrease in drug use

• Creating a community of like minded teens


Who: Teens 14-17 years old who use, have

used or have friends that use drugs or

alcohol.

When and Where: Every Tuesday at 4:00

starting May 16th at north downtown

Flagstaff.

Cost: Sliding scale $15-$25 per group session

(12 sessions total)
