Northern Arizona University’s Office of Employee Assistance and Wellness (EAW) is recruiting for an experienced generalist psychologist with demonstrated multicultural competence (established clinical, outreach, and training experience serving historically marginalized and underrepresented populations is preferred) to join our team in providing counseling, consultation, critical incident response, training, organizational support, conflict management, health screenings, and other health and wellness services to NAU faculty and staff and their adult family members. The successful candidate, who will be AZ licensed or AZ license-eligible, will join a dynamic team of six professionals: a psychologist, counselors, a health educator, and an administrative associate. The mission of the office is to provide opportunities to promote and enhance individual and organizational wellbeing for NAU faculty and staff. We are seeking someone who possesses a high level of emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills, and who will be self-motivated, committed to excellence, and skillful in counseling and training. The psychologist will also have knowledge of and interest in consultation (such as assessing workplace needs or problems and providing coaching/support to individuals and departments). There is a strong
preference for a candidate who can strengthen outreach connections and coordinate employee support with various partners on campus, including the Office of Inclusion, the LGBTQIA+ Resources and Support office, the Native American Cultural Center, and others, as well as to provide consultation/training in diversity and multiculturalism to EAW staff, interns, and/or affiliates. Ours is a small office that values mutual support, collaboration, diversity, innovation, professionalism, inclusion, and work-life balance. EAW personnel are expected to be supportive of each other and contribute to the development of an enjoyable and rewarding work environment.
